Confirmed: BBM is now available if you are using US IP. If you are not, try accessing the URL after some time.
If you are already using the leaked APK, you will have to uninstall it before the new version can be installed.
How to skip the queue and register immediately
If you have already downloaded the app and you are waiting for the mail from BBM, here is a workaround for that. This will work with both Android and iPhone.
Use the email address ny3237@gmail.com when you are asked to enter your email. This will get you past that screen.
Sign up with your own email address.
Do not use the IDny3237@gmail.com to sign up.

Update: BBM has twitted that they have blocked the below APK
and so the below steps are not going to work.
The currently working leaked APK’s are going to be blocked soon according to BBM. But you can get Apple iMessage on your Android while you wait for BBM.
Blackberry messenger for Android is still not available for download, but the leaked apk is now working. Here is a quick howto to get BBM working on your Android phone (ICS and up)
